(NAC) = Naval Air Crewman
(FMF) = Fleet Marine Force
(SEAL) = pretty clear...

What is it for a combat aircrew guy, or is it still just NAC?

Corpsman serving with a Marine unit that has earned the Combat Aircrew wings are the only ones allowed to wear it today, the designation is (CAC). The Combat Aircrew wings was discontinued for the rest of the Navy after the Vietnam era.

Did they finally consolidate AMH and AMS? On the technical side that's a huge overlap even though they're out of the same shop (cept for the jars unless that changed too) an H usually knows nothing about types of stainless and rivet patterns and an S doesn't know a micron from his the hole in his azz. It does come to them via familiarity but not an overnight happening. It must have lengthened A school at least a month or more. If not, major mistake. When did it happen?

Yes it's just AM now. I seem to remember it happening in 02, but don't quote me on that. Some of my H buddies got paint and final finish school out of it, so they didn't mind.
