Shop around, but there are some cool options in the stained glass department. The link was just an example.

Not mine, but a friend sent me this. I think they did a fairly simple mask off and stain, but there’s some possibilities down this road as far as bar tops go. I’ve been trying to think of a way to do it as a cabinet/wet bar type thing in my next place.

I’ll post pics of the room when I can, but here’s the outside (which gives a basic feel of what the inside is like). Thanks to everyone for the help and ideas!

Nice digs. Mayhaps some mission style furniture with a leather recliner?

Just depends on how overt you want the militaria to be. Some bookcases would allow you to mix up the USN stuff with other bric a brac/tchotchkes to make a more understated but still classy room that would be a place to drink a bourbon while reading a book with a dog at your feet.

I've looked into Samsung's Frame TVs as a way to discreetly add a small tv to rooms without it taking over the space. Then you could also use it to digitally display different images so the self love isn't static. A 21st century spin on the I love me wall if you will.

I have a print "Welcome Little Brother" by Nixon Galloway since one uncle was a Mustang pilot and another a Mitchell pilot. Put the print and matting in a spare frame I had already - which was slightly too big. Have decided to use the extra space to personalize the print by adding the WW2 patches of my uncles' fighter and bomber squadrons - now trying to determine which squadrons and what patches. Anybody have a good starting point? (in this case, Army Air Corps)

Sweet print and great idea! If you have trouble filling the margins with their patches, maybe you could do rank and uniform buttons from the era?

Random question (working on my bar)...what angle does the free-fall chute intersect the deck in the P-3? I’m sure this was mandatory minutia in Beasley’s day, but I don’t have access to one out here in NC to check.
