March 20, 2017 SWO Board

This date will be replacing the current February 6, 2017 date.

I received this information from my Chain of Command (who received this directly from BUPERS) recently after a major hickup on BUPERS part of the OCS application process. I submitted my package in mid-September and received a confirmation email saying that I was good to go and processed for the October 24th board. Unfortunately, my package never made it to board despite being told so. Apparently there was a computer glitch, so I'm assuming there are quite a few people banging their heads on walls right now.

Just wanted to pass this information off to those others that were affected by the glitch or those intending to apply. Good luck everyone.

Nothing has been put out about the SWO board changing. You are getting and putting out bad gouge on here.

Most recent board schedule has SWO for February...

NRC, not BUPERS is who controls the board schedule.
 
@RUFiO181 I see folks (on AW.com) saying they receive a confirmation email that their package is approved for the board (or verbiage along those lines). Is this applicable to only USN personnel applying or should civilians like myself also receive emails? Its curious, because my recruiter told me my package will be considered for the upcoming boards and I would think the recruiter/processor would tell me otherwise, vice an email.

This is for active duty or reserve navy personnel. Everyone else who has a recruiter should be in consistent communication with their OR.

If only it had been mentioned before that NRC not BUPERS handles OCS boards........... oh wait it has many times......

Hello Rufio,

I'm not currently in the navy and my OR has also told me that the next SWO board is in March, not February. Can you please reconfirm? Thanks for all your help.
