If Intel was closed, why are people still waiting? Am I missing something
Intel =/= IDC
The IDC consists of the Oceanography, Information Warfare, Information Professional, and Intelligence communities. Oceanography does not select often, but IW is fairly active, with IP also picking up a few each board.

yes, usually per year you will see Intel about 40 IW about 40 SWO options about 10 total, IP 6 or less, Oceano when open to civilians is usually 1 or 2

Has anyone been able to get ahold of the OCS Helpdesk lately? I have emailed and called them with no response.

If past boards are an indication of when IDC boards post results, (with the exception of the September 2014 board) a good estimate for resolution is about 18 days, which brings us to around the March 27th timeframe.

Or, you know, mid-May, based on the most recent one lol.
Seriously though, I would bet that things like the budget and sequestration factor into quotas, and so selections could (and most likely do) hinge on FY16 money. I'm not sure how much of an impact budget cuts have on personnel accessesions (I've only seen what happens to the current force numbers), but I'd imagine they could hold up the board for at least a few weeks, should they become a real concern. Considering that there only seem to be about 40-50 spots for about 200+ applicants, losing or gaining two or three of those would be a big deal (I think).
From what I've heard, and I have no idea how reliable this information is, the IW community is trying to boost its numbers over the next two years (somewhere around 150%). The number of 1810 selections from this next board should be a good validator.

The help desk hasn't answered the phone or responded to emails for the last month. Possibly because of the adverse weather.
