Funny thing is, in my squadron right now - we have one that proves your point, and one that matches your exception to the rule.Either you are solid and don't need the patch to prove it, or you aren't. If you went as a captain and are now a major or higher, you are just demonstrating a lack of self-confidence by wearing it. I've only seen one exception to that rule, and I worked for him. Oddly enough, he was cool and laid-back enough I wouldn't have guessed he was one unless he wore it. Hmm...maybe that's why he did....
The dry suit is also referred to as a "poopie suit."
What if your flight suit nametape is made of "synthetic leather material" that happens to be brown?"Nametapes will be...made of black leather or synthetic leather material only"
Guess everyone just says "f*ck that, I want a brown leather nametape"?
Talmudic debate has nothing on a bunch of Marines discussing uniform regs.

Or SWOs/CPOs trying to interpret "Brief Stops" when flight suits are involved... OY VEY!
Don't wear it out in town and you won't get hassled.
Dude, I just wear Iron Maiden shirts, and stained jeans with worn out running shoes or flight boots depending on mode of transport. Shorts once in a while.
