WRT your PFT score at OCS... I found that my PFT actually went up quite a bit when I shipped, primarily my run. I think its different for everyone, and depends also on what time of the morning you run (some of the jrs. companies ran after us and it was decently warm by then) ..
You have an extra bit of adrenaline pumping at OCS... my run time improved by nearly 2 minutes. The candidates that did take a hit physically primarily lost points with pullups, as the PT at OCS tends to wear down your muscular endurance in your upper body. However, the running at OCS builds up your endurance and allows you to stay strong. I tried doing some lifting at the gym before heading to seniors and it definitely helped me out.
