Should have mentioned this earlier: whole article is available on ebird. While presented in an obviously biased manner, there are some valid points.

There's really no mention of whether the alterative would've been able to do any better. Seeing as the S-92 hasn't landing any major military contracts, I wonder. Blackwater has some, but that's about as close to a military contract as I've found. Britain and Canada have both bought the EH/US-101.

Canada bought the EH101 for SAR duties but they have made a bigger buy of the S-92 for their Navy:
