As much as I dislike the current President, I can say that I see why the responses were different with his entrance. In the George Bush entrance, they weren't playing "Hail to the Chief". As simple as that sounds, Marines know customs and courtesies. Play "Hail to the Chief" - they stand at attention, period. However, I think what's more telling (on both sides) is the departure. Bush seems to be popular, and wants to pose with the troops. Obama doesn't seem as popular, and only wants to greet the CJCS. Throw in two different environments (Camp Lejeune vs. Al Asad) and you can't draw much from it.
I have my personal opinion though - Obama is like Gore with regards to the military. Why do I say that? At a hail and farewell when I was a young Lt, I spied a picture of the host with President Clinton, when he was flying at HMX-1. We asked him what he thought and his exact words were: "President Clinton was a total choad until he realized that those around him in uniform had no hidden agenda. We were there to do our jobs, and he respected that. He turned out to be a pretty decent dude. Al Gore, on the other hand? Total ass-nugget." Yes, this was after the imbibing part of the hail and farewell, and after Bush was already President.

There's a reason the saying "opinions are like assholes." The minute I have to add a citation to my opinion is the minute I move out of this country.
I was honestly wondering if you actually had anything to base it on other than your opinion but alas, I gave you way too much credit.

The way I see it is Obama is demanding respect from the Marines by playing "Hail to the Chief". When Bush walked in to just an introduction the reaction was he already had the respect of the Marines. Just my opinion.

I don't think this video does anything but give a bunch of people the ability to argue about who would win in a fight between my dad and your dad.

Obviously the background of both videos are a little different, so I have posted one similar to GW Bush. It was reported by Fox News so I am sure it will not cause any grief.
And who cares to know what GW Bush has to say about anyone else. Who cares about what President Obama thinks about the troops? It does not make any fvcking difference what he thinks as long as we are not wondering around in the Middle East looking for WMD's. So many lives lost and many others destroyed and you are telling me about what he fvcking thinks. As much of a choad Clinton might have been, there was cautious approach with the use of the military. Yeah, the liberal...
And what is the obsession with the CinC thinking highly of the troops? You have a J-O-B to do for which you get PAID. It is business and not personal.
