What? That sounds highly questionable. Where did you hear that?

I'll second that... I know people who have gotten married at several different stages in flight school...

Yup...happened to my girlfriend and her Fiance...he's gound forces but it's not any different with air...or so I have heard. They got permission but it just takes TIME. You'll learn about the military and the speed with which they get paperwork done ( or don't lol)

My husband and I got married when he was in API and we didn't have to do that. We didn't have any problems doing paperwork and we didn't have to get permission to get married.

We're already up to speed on all of that. None of us have heard of it... (and several of us talked about it over dinner.) Still don't believe that, as we've all had people we know get married at various stages of training/service and no one else has had that occur. Maybe your friend was just a fluke.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard somebody perpetuate some crazy rumor based on something they had heard from somebody who knew a guy that used to be related to somebody else who had a Marine Corps T-shirt.

The only time I've ever seen somebody have to get permission to get married was when they had to leave the area and needed approval to take leave (just for leave, not to get married). Sounds like either your friend isn't telling you the whole story, or is telling you the whole story with some extra "flair".

There, let that be it. The rest of you lay off. And let it die. The Marines have tried that before, about 9 or 10 years ago, with their young enlisted Marines. It didn't last long, and as far as I know, they haven't tried it again since. But she's going on what she's heard, and frankly, so are the rest of you, so let it go.

I'm going on what I've seen and heard since I came on active duty over ten years ago. What would I know?
People around here hate it when somebody proclaims bad information as gospel. The situation probably would have died without your input.
