Hey all,
First post. I'm hopefully being seen for the May boards. I'm a little nervous because I only applied for the Intelligence community.

ASTB: 60 6/6/6
PRT: Excellent High
Recommendations: Retired Navy Captain (Pilot), 2 Professors, Mentor
3.5 GPA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Which is a Theology Degree)
Minor in Ancient Greek
Interview with LT Intelligence Officer

After interviewing, I realized my motivational statement is more... motivational than informative. I kind of just sold myself as general Officer potential, not the unique perspective my religious studies bring to the table. I'm personally fascinated with Muslim-Western relations and the religious influence involved, and my interviewee seemed excited about that. Any thoughts? I know it's less than a 10% acceptance.

welcome and good luck. we are all just waiting around for word from the boards. when did you get your app in? a good rule of thumb is if you have it in before the 1st of the month, you should be seen.

I'd say a motivational statement SHOULD be based on providing a show of one's motivation and source of determination for earning the title of Naval Officer.. so you were probably spot on with that one ; ) I think that motivation is informative to say the least.

Thanks, Guys. My recruiter said it was "approved" by someone on May 4th. We had it submitted before the first. I've been lurking here for a while and hadn't heard anyone talked about the board "approval" before, so I'm not sure what that means exactly. I hassled my recruiter again today and he also complained about the speed of the computers - he couldn't see if the Intel board has even met yet. Anyone have more useful info? :)
