I like the blue biosoles you got issued at OCS and can buy at Quantico Boot. They are smoother on the top layer than the green superfeet. And, I think they are cheaper.
When I went through OCS I got issued some crazy gel soles - definitely DON'T recommend these. I took green superfeet and had the blue biosoles at OCS. It's nice to have two since at least one pair of your boots is always soaking wet.
I graduated from OCS in August (PLC/09 Comb). I will be reporting to TBS on September 8th.
The entire time I was at OCS I had problems with my feet. Other than OCS I have no experience with ruck marches or running in boots. I clearly have no idea how to take care of my feet.
Do any of you experienced guys have suggestions? How is the boot supposed to fit? Which boot is most comfortable? I had Bates while I was at OCS but I was thinking about trying the Danners.
I live in Colorado right now but I want to get a pair prior to reporting so that I can get used to running in them again. That means I will have to order everything online so I am kind of doing this blind.
You need to try on the boots you plan to wear, as Swanee said everyone's feet are different. You might try on several pairs before you find the right boot or it may be as simple as adding an arch support.
