If you can't put it in your car, you can do without it until you get your first duty station. All the furniture and accesories are there for the taking and cheap by guys who have figured out they can't take it with them.
Get used to it. You are going to learn how to cut to the bone and leave shit behind no matter how painful.
Simple fact of life in the military.

True story. I lived in a sleeping bag on the floor of a nice bedroom for the first 5 weeks I was here, at least until my roomatte lent me his air mattress so I could get sleep during API. Aside from that, I have needed very little. I would highly recommend rooming w/ FO studs if you can, as they already have their $hit down here and you can use their kitchen stuff and dishes.....and swim in the pool in their backyard and drink their bourbon...oh wait...

Not really sure

Honest to goodness, the gouge will change by the time you get here. I'm in API right now, and as an NFO, have been here since last July. Most Studs live off base. I've heard that the BOQ is open to studs, on a limited basis. A few months ago everything changed with pilots coming down here for training I guarantee you that the BOQ will not accommodate the 400+ of you who are coming down this Summer. I'd take the navy up on the 600 pounds of HHG that they'll ship for you, load up your car, and live off of that. You won't know anything for sure until you have your PSD brief, just because PSD can't make up their damn mind on anything this year, though more than likely you will only be getting transient BAH ( a spitance of ~600). It's really up to you. If you wanna keep your stuff, put in in storage and wait.
