I know the following question get asked and addressed from time to time, often to the point of over-addressing them, but I keep getting conflicting gouge and wanted to find out what the CURRENT situation was:

So I am tentatively scheduled to head to NASP on 30 Jan (havent seen my orders yet but XO says thats the day I should expect) and I am wondering if there have been any problems with folks being required to live in the Q? All the gouge here says that no one has had a problem, but my XO insists that P'cola is requiring folks to live in the Q if there is room. I have a German Sheppherd and its my understanding he wouldnt be able to come with me if I was living in BOQ.

I think technically the policy says the BOQ shouldn't be giving out non-availability stamps if their occupancy is below the prescribed 98% or whatever. So your XO is right on what the policy is...the thing is, it's not being enforced at all - anyone who goes into the BOQ and asks for a non-availability stamp gets it. Different story up at Whiting, but during your time at NASP, you won't have to live on base.

I got my orders from BUPERs 2 days ago, and I am not headed down for a few months, so I don't know what the hold up is for you guys.

My roommate here got orders today. There is a problem with my physical, some sheet never made it to P'Cola and now that they have it the hold up is caused by a delay in it being reviewed. Im expecting orders soon though.

Jon did you request a late date or did you request an early date? How close to your request date did you actually get?

I requested a later date. I actually got the exact date that I requested. My bet is that most people are going to get the date that they requested, and if there is a backlog, then we will just be in A pool longer.

Well, tomorrow is my first day of work as a stashed Ensign, so hopefully I'll hear something as to when I am officially leaving.

**I have to report NLT 23 Jan.

From the sound of it you wont be classing up to anything but A-Pool. I head down next week and report on the 30th.

Have you read through the API welcome packet? If you could let us know what to expect from the Flight Management brief on Friday.
