They are not the original issue sunglasses that @ChuckMK23 speaks of...they are Randolph Engineering sunglasses that I purchased at the Delta uniform shop a few years ago. I still have the original issue American Optical sunglasses that were issued to us in AOCS (1986)...but they are fairly banged up and the dark blue plastic case disintegrated about a 15 years ago.

EDIT ADDITION: Here's a pic from a few minutes ago of the original issue American Optical sunglasses from AOCS...fairly banged up but still useable...

I love this thread and love this website because of threads like this. My wife walked in on the Hooters picture and I walked her through this thread and she is now laughing fairly hard at the way I described the loving relationship of Maddog and Chuck and suddenly has developed an interest in MREs, until she asked if I ever had one I didn't like to which I was able to clearly remember the one I got during Sea Trials at USNA: chicken and dumplings. They didn't give us enough time to warm it up, and I just remember a packet of goup that was indistinguishable what was chicken, what was dumpling, and the "sauce" if you'll call it that I recall being basically just mayonnaise. Gosh I hated that meal.

I have fond memories of the winter breakfast MREs from SERE East. That was also one of the few times I've ever eaten Spam and that sandwich was fantastic.

MREs at SERE? Decadent, especially for the West Side. The potato that my partner and I "found" was a feast unto itself. And now you're telling me we could have had MREs?

Yeah, we got MREs during the field lab portion of SERE at Brunswick.
