“Over 105% retention” sounds like some bean counting dork decided to count the children some service members had while making the decision to stay in. Does that stat make a lick of sense, especially given the seemingly well-known trend we all seem to be aware of regarding JO aviator retention?

Probably more along the lines of: we need to keep 100 of x rate at the Journeyman / Supervisor level to man the fleet but are setting the goal higher to account for the usual “friction”.

I feel like this F-18 moniker was coined during the murder hornet invasion of 2020 by some dude, and then aviation geeks have since tried really really hard to make it a thing. Stop trying to make murder hornet happen! It’s not going to happen! 🙅‍♂️
