The selling point for me was how well you could make out the drop compensator dots with the 3x while unmagnified they blur to almost a line.
As soon as I get a chance to hit the range I'll do a full report (pictures included) with magnified vs. unmagnified.
One thing I will say is that it easily almost doubled the unloaded weight of my rifle, and it took some clever mounting to fit all three (the magpul battle site, the magnifier, and the red dot) on the rifle.
In my defense all the gucci magpul accessories came with the rifle. As for the poopie color and the flair cracks, I deserve everyone of them ; )

You done stole it. That's a great price. Those mags are a nuisance to find, too; you did well to get that many. I owned a Mini-14 for a good while, and I kinda miss it. First off, how's the length of pull for you? Mine always felt short. I picked up a 1" recoil pad designed to fit it, and it helped. I took it off when I sold it, and it's laying around. Yours if you want it. Next, I couldn't get into the sights. There aren't many aftermarket options, either. Having those scope rings will help out; a fixed 4x would be great on there. I worked up a pretty good handload for it, so if you're a reloader, I've got some data to share. It's gonna be 100% reliable. That's what Mini's do best, bar none. A good load will get 2 MOA to start, and closer to 3 when it's hot.

I love those US GI issued fiberglass stocks. I have one on my M1A and they are as rugged as they are ugly. It saves wear and tear on my Sunday go to meeting walnut stock.
