My Latest Purchase (or just pictures of your current guns)

Silencers and SBRs for all my friends! That is all.
Not exactly. The injunction applies only to members of the GOA and customers of the Silencer Shop, Palmetto Armory, and some other place. So, be sure you buy from the right place!

And IN the right place, as a resident of the right place, buying only one type of device... this is turning 2A and NFA into an even more confusing patchwork of laws, unfortunately...

SIG's reaction when I ask if this pistol is going to accidentally discharge, like the P320:

number9, former SIG owner and current GLOCK (and HK!) owner who was never truly sure if the P320s had an issue or not.

Aimpoint have a pretty good military discount (I think it's 20%?) so I got an ACRO P2. I was dumb enough to buy a Glock V-series pistol, so I had to get the slide cut. I went with Wager Machine Works in TN and am very pleased with the result:

One thing I'm not happy about is the quality of the ACRO battery cover. It's plastic, and from what I can tell it's made from some kind of plastic/string cheese material. I damaged it when opening the cover, and it's soft enough that you can gouge it with a fingernail.

They do sell an aluminum cover but it's like $30. Sad!

My friends who are Glock guys say that the custom milled slide is the way to go over the factory mounting solution
My problem is that I'm dumb. When I finally decided to ditch the P320, I went for the newest Glock.. which was a V-Series because Glock was trying (on paper!) to get around all the "hey you can install a switch in these things rather easily". I think they did make a V-Series MOS pistol, but they are basically impossible to find now - so I couldn't just swap out the slide.

Oh well.

Also, there's a municipal range near me - apparently the only one in Ohio?!

There are a few Ohio DNR ranges not far from you. Also consider trying your hand at a USPSA match, as there are multiple clubs in the area and you can shoot a match pretty much any Sunday of the month.

I did IDPA back in the day - like, late 2000s - with a DA SIG P226! I really enjoyed it, but then life happened.

Would love to try USPSA with no mods other than the red dot...

IDPA is ridiculous to me. Too many people with Walter Mitty delusions.

USPSA and it's international sibling IPSC, is true sport and accessible by all ages and abilities. No camo, no "tacti-cool". Solid emphasis on fundamentals and safety and friendly group camaraderie.

I'm not an IDPA fan either, but a lot of the above can also depend on the clientele and not the particular organization. The 2-Gun match I shoot is an outlaw match and there's a LOT of LARP'ing that happens there (from various timelines). If you want to hang out with that group, you can squad up with them.

Personally that's not my jam, so the group I squad up with focuses on marksmanship, safety, and camaraderie, though many of us may still have lights and LAMs on guns. But it's because those of us that do also shoot the guns in other environments that utilize them.

At least when I did it, IDPA was pretty benign. Sure there were some folks with race guns, but for the most part it was "run what ya brung". But that was literally 15 years ago now!
