Myocarditis

Hello,
My son endured three bouts of Myocarditis after the COVID vax. He had a full NROTC scholarship which he couldn't accept because he couldn't get past DODMERB. He is now a junior in college and is going fine and is back to playing college athletics. We read through the NAMI waiver guide on here and couldn't find any info on Myocarditis, just Pericarditis. All his heart functions are fine now. I have two questions. Is past myocarditis waiverable for fixed wing aviators? Would he get a flight physical prior to attending OCS? It's been almost three decades since I saw friends getting the Nammy Whammy in P'cola so I'm not really too optimistic or informed. Thanks

I can't quote specifically on the waiverability of myocarditis for naval aviators....

If he's going to Navy OCS, he will go to MEPS first then do his flight physical at OCS. Marines do their flight physicals before applying to OCS as pilots.

I have a minor heart murmur that didn't end up requiring a waiver. But I was given a standard ekg at NAMI then a doc visit with a cardiologist + echo cardiogram before being medically cleared, all done in Newport. After my initial flight physical, the murmur has been written off every year as there's documentation that there's nothing wrong with my heart. Point is, if there's no sign of repeat or damage to his heart, I don't see why it would be a problem/ if he can clear his physical, hell be fine ongoing.
