The devil is in the details, I was under the (mistaken?) impression that the Taepo Dong 2/2A was the Shabab-5, and the Taepo Dong 2C/3 was the Shabab-6.

Never heard of a Shahab 5/6 before. I think this is a good indication of how reliable that source is: "It is based on public information, circumstantial evidence, informed speculation".

The point is the same. If we wanted to, we could have a TLAM on that site in 15 minutes. Putting this kind of think in the media ahead of time is a smart move. It lets them know that we are not surprised, we are not intimidated, and we are prepared. It makes the actual event of the test a non-event when it goes down. We can say, OK, so what, you tested a missile that we told you not to test, that (probably) did not work right, and we can shoot down if we really wanted to. Big fat deal.
