A good friend of mine from the squadron has recently started a coffee roasting company. If anyone is in need of a good cup of joe, either at home or for the mess, please check him out. His coffees are excellent, I've tried both the Colombian and the Mexican and they're both awesome. I've also heard that the Ethiopian and the El Salvador are quite good.

Ready room coffee is great. Let it sit overnight in the pot and in the morning you fill your squadron mug, flip it upside down onto a plate, carefully remove the mug and cut your coffee into gelatin wedges. Enjoy.

Dirt DEt coffee is better (usually) than boat coffee. We were well taken care of with Starbuck, Peets and Dunkin Donuts beans, a grinder and the best damn 220VAC $20 coffee maker on Earth.

Dunkin Donuts = very military friendly. We wrote them an email asking if we could order coffee and get it shipped to an FPO. About 3 weeks later 2 cases of ground coffee arrived gratis.

It went well with the box 'o drivers that Callaway sent us. Something about the word "Iraq" makes people want to send you free stuff...

You think you all had it bad the coffee in the E’s mess was awful, actually WAY beyond awful. Those tall urns probably hadn’t been cleaned or even empty since the ship had been commissioned, or on shore, since the chow hall been built. (Good grub though!)
