Naval Uniform and jewelry

I'm wondering what jewelry is acceptable for male officers to wear while in uniform. Specifically are college class rings okay? And does it matter if the ring has a gold or silver finish? It is my understanding that watches must be silver colored metal.

Thanks so much.

No garish watches or rings. One ring per hand. POW bracelets are kosher, but no other visible jewelry.

If you're a fighter guy, the watch must be large enough to be read across the room and cost more than your first car.

While we're on the topic, could the military please ban those godawful ginormous class rings that some colleges, or should I say institutions, seem to be known for? You know who you are. Umm...garish and eccentric, anyone?

It's like some perverse brass-knuckle arms race.

And here is why I never wore a ring (wedding or school) on the flightline or flight deck.

The real answer is: Several forms of jewelry are authorized for wear by males, but none are acceptable.

Com'on, guys ... 'Daisy' is advertised as an NROTC MOM ... Mother's Day is comin' up, so how 'bout a little slack ... ???

When my MOM was an 'NROTC MOM' ... she got me an Omega Speedmaster for graduation ('da MOON shot version) when $665 for a single Mom was the equivalent of $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 today ...

Daisy ... if you're out there ... NO JEWELRY for your boy in Blue if he's flyin' or workin' around 'machinery' ... it's not safe. I almost lost a finger while wearing a ring & closing a canopy once ... I didn't 'do it' twice ...

Get him a nice watch for the down times ...

Ma'am,

Didn't see the bio, and thus apologize if my sarcasm was a bit too fresh. While I'm sure that the Omega Speedmaster in A-4's day consisted of a round slab with a pole in the middle who's shadow would paint the hour, I second a good watch as a recommendation. I don't wear my class ring anymore, but the watch I received from my parents saw me right for a good few years. No need to go big on the price tag, but throw some bells and whistles on something that seems ridiculously large and he'll fit right in.

Or the ship in general. While inport, I took my ring off every day after coming aboard. While underway, the ring stayed off till I crossed the brow after coming back in.

Yes, I know. When I said that the Navy had the best uniforms, I meant the best looking. I don't mind paying more to look good. Looks nice nearly impossible to keep clean; especially the shoes.

Thanks
