I meant that we'd be part of the same service and that we'd be both wearing "the uniform" soon.

Last I saw, they are getting the "Japanese Inspection" by the 3-star and above level. Not saying no, but won't say yes.
As an aviator, if you go to the boat (the real one), you will need wash khakis (or whatever their equivalent is in the future). Don't buy any new uniform component until you're told you need to.

The Navy's been trying to come up with a "flight suit equivalent" uniform for everybody else for years - something easy to maintain and wear, useful for dirty jobs year-round, and looks sharp.
The Blue Digis aren't the best solution possible, but they're a hell of a lot better for work 'round Das Boat than dungarees/wash khakis/SWOveralls. If I'm in a job where I can't wear the bag, I'd much rather wear these things than khakis.
For the studs in the Program: you can buy a set if you want, but unless the VTs prescribe the Digis for standing watch, it'll be a long time before you need them.
