Thought this was interesting so I would share it in case others missed it. It looks like NASP is about to get a bit bigger soon (at least for a short period). Should be interesting to see.

Navy Sending Ships to Gulf Coast
Associated Press | August 31, 2005

WASHINGTON - The Navy is sending four ships to the Gulf Coast with water and other supplies for those hit by Hurricane Katrina, but officials are urging service members not to try to return to their military bases in New Orleans.

Navy bases in Gulfport, Miss., and New Orleans were evacuated and suffered heavy flooding and wind damage. Officials are gearing up to fly over the bases to get a detailed assessment of the damage.
 
For the people that our military doesn't do good, this (along w/ the Tsunami Relief) goes to show that our military can do more than just fight. We're pretty good at the humanitarian thing as well.

Man, you must be pretty senior... Now it's PS2 and Xbox. Although we did get our field grade over to our room one night to play NCAA Football 2005. Schwacked them pretty good...

Although I have seen Cobra guys doing convoy escort during a humanitarian op...

Im not that old I thought it was reffered to as nintendo thumb like all tissue is kleenex. The east timor ops we couldnt scare the peace loving canniabls with our mean helicopters, had to stay in the hangar lest someone get all scared and stuff
