Probably varies by location, but here in NE Floriduh, there are lots of cop parking spots. Whether that's an honorable profession probably depends on who you ask.Why don't other honorable professions get special treatment?

I sometimes do, it is 50/50 shot on whether that spot is closer or the regular spots are closer. The Lowes close to me has very pro-veteran leadership and helps out various veterans needs. There are other Lowes and Home Depots that are not, the HD closest to me has eliminated all but 2 of their veteran parking spots and placed equipment blocking those 2, another HD close to me moved their veteran spots over by the lumber yard and out of the way, a Lowes I rarely go to took down their veteran parking when work was done and last I saw had yet to replace it.Whichever one gives me a prime parking spot. Can't remember if that's HD or Lowe's. Oh well, just give me my 10% discount, and I'll be on my way.
I know it's a marketing strategy but has anyone ever parked in these veteran parking spots? I find it ridiculous. /threadjack out.

More likely, because the law says so, and bases have to follow the law."oh but we needed to put up a fire lane that eliminates 30% of the growler sim building parking because we said so"

Because not many other honorable professions carry the same obligations and sacrifice or are as essential to sustaining our free republic? Not faulting you for using the spots. I'm just railing against the concept. Why don't other honorable professions get special treatment?
There is a large push within DOD construction projects to reduce paved space and increase "green" space. In a recent update our squadron lost a bunch of parking spots.Sounds like every Naval Air Station I've ever been stationed at. Each year, remove more and more parking spots, eliminate designated spots, rinse/repeat. Force the sailors to walk from the barracks because where they used to park is now all O/E-7+ parking, who also park further and further away each year. I understand the idea of green space, but at the same time most bases are not walkable. And, walking 1/2 mile in sub freezing temperatures in Michigan really sucks.
