NCR Parade Rumint

I still think an elephant walk out the gate of Andrews and down Pennsylvania Ave is the right idea. They can cross the 14th St bridge to Reagan and fly home.

They wouldn’t make it out the front gate with those speed bumps around the curve. Then the onramp is tough to get up on the parkway. Pearl gate….maybe, but then they’re going downhill to a T intersection and are more likely to run off the road into that ditch.

Maybe on his way to the parade someone can remind him of that pesky 1A.

It's stunning to watch people who took (and currently swear) oaths to the Constitution fall prey to this demagoguery. Years of education and mentoring failed. Even the most ardent defenders on this site know a lot of this shit is just wrong, but you'll say you're good with it because inflation, or gay/black/brown/poor/different people are bad, or own the libs. I'm beginning to realize I gave too many of my colleagues too much good-faith credit and benefit of the doubt for too long. You/they were these people all along.

Not liking your "Can't Do" attitude, shipmate.

Some great photos from the stuff arriving up there. A lot of retirees/DACs pulling the historic stuff. Hopefully the weather goes off. This is probably 1/17 Cavs last big show.

Is 1/17 casing their colors?

All the Air Cav Squadrons are to be disestablished per the Army Transition Initiative.

Stop training and final dates are all still variable, but effectively 1/17 is done soon, same with a few others. The couple that are on deployment will last a little longer, but their shutdowns will occur once they come back.

Right…I recall reading something about this. They are eliminating the air cav squadron and keeping the attack/recon battalion. Sad times for those of us who love unit lineage.

Is that word not yet banned?
Seems a bit diverse...er... I mean, varied.

Army rocking the heritage look with OD-107 fatigue uniforms and Mitchell camo helmet covers during parade practice.

It’s supposed to be a history lesson through the parade, so the flyover aircraft and equipment sets match the time period marching.

Theres a lot of support from heritage groups and museums to make this all happen.

The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation will provide 2xUH1 and 1xAH1 for the Parade flyover with three other organizations for a total of 2xOH6; 4xUH1; 2xAH1. I do know that most of the AAHF flight crew are Vietnam combat vets. Probably high percent of the other organizations flight crew as well.

What an awesome event to inform and educate the public about the traditions and history of the U. S. Army. Definitely an event and opportunity they don’t get everday . . . Who knows, maybe a disadvantaged young child will see this parade and begin to forge a path towards service in our Armed Forces.
