Netflix recommendations?

The first couple seasons of Burn Notice were pretty entertaining for me, but honestly it starts falling off a bit in season three. Maybe its because I try binge watching then entire series at once, and every time I try to get through it I start at season 1, episode 1.

I couldn't get through Burn Notice, about halfway into season 1 it felt like every episode had the same basic plot. I made it halfway through season 2 before I gave up.

While never touted as such, Burn Notice (specifically the first season or so) was actually a pretty nifty idea as a way to reboot MacGyver, before reboots were a "thing." If you didn't like it, you didn't like it, but to see something that shared the same basic idea as MacGyver (albeit stuck in Miami), but was cooler, had more guns and significantly less mullets, it was an entertaining watch for me as a child of the '80's.

It basically is. Someone has a problem and goes to Michael for help. Michael uses some fancy spy craft to help. A secondary problem complicates things. Michael says *k it, we'll do it live with some other fancy spy craft. Problem solved and they don't have money, so they owe Michael a favor. Plot line for every episode.

That plot line starts to digress later on. I might argue to the show's detriment, but obviously not everyone agrees. Also, see: Equalizer.

And the last minute of each episode is a stupid hint to Michael about the CIA maybe wanting to take him back (or so he thinks).

Overall, a mostly watchable show until the last 2-3 seasons.

Coming up on December 8th: Season 2 of The Grand Tour.

Omigosh YES. I've been waiting for what feels like forever! Hopefully they've come up with something other than dying celebrities for that bit though lol. I wish the BBC would bug off and let em do segments without suing.
