So hypothetically if passed up the first time but selected a following time for AMC a VAQ type could be the Captain of a Phib? A VFA type couldn't?

Surprised to see TSW on there . . . would've guessed that would be a 13X5 or a 13X7 job . . . or is it?

In theory, I suppose. In practice, extremely rare, as best I can tell.

I believe one of the COs of BHR after I left was VAQ.
Just looked at the CO history back to 2008 - didn't recognize any VAQ names. John Funk, who was my MO in HSL-44 (whose efforts contributed significantly toward getting me commissioned), was the CO of BHR in 2010. When were you there?

Kind of surprising, really. I mean, the hardware squadrons are their own world, but SELRES land is still a different ball game than the AC side of the house WRT funding, manning, and general ways of doing business. Maybe not a totally different ballgame, but one is probably Rugby Union and the other is Rugby League.

I'm sure there are plenty of smart 13X5s/13X7s on the staff to get the boss up to speed and keep him/her out of trouble, but still.

Disregard. The guy I thought was TACAIR was an HSC guy. Sorry for the evening of bowel shaking panic.

“Hak” is good people, known him since he was a DH. Glad Big Navy gave him a Boat.

Never knew he was Iranian. Doesn’t really have much of an accent.

Which is why FLSW and MSW are commanded and staffed by FTS I guess. TSW is the anomaly for some reason.
