NFO to NSW support?

ABMD

Bullets don't fly without Supply
Why? They let other people. Friend of mine (former Hornet pilot, TOPGUN grad, turned 181X/CW, rolled with DEVGRU). There are more than SEALS at DEVGRU.
For every 1 Operator there are at least 10 support PAX. Our schoolhouse LSC was formerly with DEVGRU. If you ever get a chance to do an exercise with NSW you'll realize there are a lot more than just SEALS in NSW.

Pretty much.. The cool thing about my friend was that since he was an 181X, he actually rolled with the team on the ground.

As I have learned, unfortunately too late, is that CT's and 181X's get to do a lot more stuff that I deem cool and exciting. I should have gone 181X when I was doing the DCO process.

Thanks for all the gouge so far.

Slight tangent: any specific insight into what the screening process is like? Any physical/psychological evolutions to make sure you'd be a good fit?

So the WSO had some technical skill they needed and gets assigned to DEVGRU, did he go through BUDs, or just get trained up to accompany the guys on the ground and run the disgronificator? I guess I always figured that they trained their own guys up, rather than bringing outsiders in to deploy.

Theres a surprising number of non SEAL types going out the door with actual SEALs. I had a former AM3 (I was his div-O) that went his own way. I ran into him ten years later downrange and he’s riding around in a MATV smoking dudes, but he’s still a regular, non-SEAL, AM1.

Thanks for all the gouge so far.

Sometimes you get screened and they can't even tell you what they are screening you for unless you get picked.

It's obviously good to have a skill they need especially if you can do that skill in a different language.

Those guys are regarded as turds because they talked about Fight Club?

The rest of the community do regard them turds for that, for leaving Chapman behind to fight and die alone on top of a mountain and for not being able to complete Ops without losing weapons.

Thanks, I haven’t read the book, so I didn’t know about the rest of it.
