NFO Vision Requirements

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the vision requirement for NFO vs. Pilot? If so, do you know what it is?

NFO.... the requirements are correctable to 20/20. I have something around 20/600. Bad enough that my optomitrist doesn't even try to categorize me on the 20/ scale because it doesn't mean anything so far down.

Yeah but I would want them to put me to sleep because I can't even put a contact in my eye but I only have to wear glasses when I drive. What is it when both of your eyes are -3.00, in terms of 20/ whatever?

I'd say it's worse than just wearing glasses for driving. It's definitely >20/100. I've never heard of anyone getting a general for PRK.

In a real vision test, no. And it is not always the same letter, I have seen/not seen K, R, S etc.

When they measured my glasses at NAMI for the whammy they said my glasses were over the limit for SNFO by a little bit (I would not worry about the limit too much, my eyes are really bad:( ). They 'tweaked' my prescription to just under the limit (they said it was not uncommon) and I passed with them on with 20/20 vision.....and then never wore them again. I have always used my civilian glasses/contacts.
