NFO Wait Time Update

Does the wait time in A pool for NFO's depend if you are in the AF or Navy? I've heard it both ways (sts).

Also, is the whole "muster at 0730 a couple days a week and spend the rest of your time at the gym/beach" still going on? No stash jobs for AF bubbas?

Chocks, The muster is every day at 0730. The wait time seems to be the same as it was a few months ago. Somewhere between 6-8 months for the NFOs (there was a wait difference btw the Navy and AF but I havent got a clue what it is now). For those of you who are trying to project a start date, good luck. You will be told that they think you will start at a certain time and without a doubt it will change. For those of you who are already in API, the wait on the other side in C-pool is about 2 months. Im smack in the middle of it right now.:sleep_125

Sorry Irish05 I meant to try to answer your question too. I haven't started seeing flight pay yet (a month out of API) but the rumor is it will be in the next paycheck. Ill let you know if thats the truth.

You start getting flightpay after classing up for primary. If I remember correctly, I got the first installment on my first pay check after classing up. Good times.

I was told by Mrs. XXX in TRAWING6 stucon that we actually start accumulating flight pay the day we started API. But the pay doesnt start until after u class up for Primary. If this is true do we get backpay? Or was she just talking crazy?

Hmm, I think that may just be AF. Not sure though. If you're right, the powers that be owe me money.

My flight pay started accumulating the day I got orders to primary. I think the key is the phrase "for actual duty involving flying." My orders to API did not say that. I actually received the money about 1 1/2 months after starting primary. If you get back flight pay for API, let me know 'cause I want mine too.

Class up dates and the like will not have any effect on pay. I guarantee PSD has no clue and does not care when you class up for API or primary.

SNFO waiting for primary
I think the day we start API is the day our aviation service counter starts, not actually the day we recieve flight pay. I work in flight management, and the LT say the current wait is about 20 weeks and should be comming down as we hit Oct 1.
