Ask your recruiter if he can arrange for a VIP trip. Recruiting commands are allotted funds for taking people on good deal trips, most time these funds a for Nuke applicants since they're typically the hardest ones for the Navy to recruit. NAS Pensacola is an open base because of the museum, so you will have no trouble getting on the base before 8 p.m. In this forum I'm sure a fledgling NFO would be more than receptive to showing you around the training squadron if asked. The training squadron are behind a locked fence so you'll need his/her aid to gaining access. If not the base is full of instructors and students who love talking about flying and helping others out. If you eat lunch at Ducks or the Lighthouse restaurant on base you'll see your share of instructors, feel free to walk up and ask them any questions. This is a little shady but no one guuards the door to the Mustin Beach O'Club and it's either Wednesday's or Friday's are free pizza night and there is nothing that sailor like better than free pizza. Buy a pitcher of your favorite beverage and share it with a guy and wings and you'll have made a friend for life.
