Spoilers on the left wing look very real.

Thanks all for the kind comments.

Thanks for noticing the spoilers. Hoser said they only up about 4" so you can't really see anything from the angle I shot it at.

Here is the beauty under the spoilers. Hoser said all the red on the flaps and under the slats was painted over with gray to mask the configuration of the A/C. I thought that was a pretty interesting fact about the paint scheme.

This is the 1/48 Hasegawa kit.

Did he say if he dropped the "barn doors" or use Manuever flaps/ slats to engage the F-15. The maneuvering flaps and slats partially deploy automatically or manually during an engagement to increase turn rate.

For Super maneuverability, you cold drop the main flaps (prohibited by NATOPS of course, nudge nudge wink wink) as long as you don't shoot an upper station Winder through them.

Plane turned like a Mo-Fo with the big boys down..

Well, it looks like Hoser had a few more kills in him. I entered the Hoser jet in the Virginia Regional model show today and it took home top honors. It knocked out plenty of other adversaries along with 4 other Eagles in the class.

Until next time....

Cheers

That's sick man! The spoilers being open was the first thing I noticed, I'd never seen that before, is that aftermarket or did you scratch build?

Thanks noticing them. They came out pretty well.

They are scratch built. With the help of a six pack of Guinness and the nerves of a steely eyed model builder I took an X-acto knife to the wing and cut out the spoilers. They were replaced with some cut sheet styrene. The underside detail (motors, pushers, rods) was added using the unused landing gear, coat hangers, and copper wire. While not 100% accurate, pretty convincing for what you can see.

I spent a lot of time turning wrenches on bloc 90 and 110 A mods and used to see our MECHS elbow deep in those wing spoilers so yea, very convincing, I'm totally impressed. I PM'd you by the way. Thanks for the reply.
