It is what you make of it man. Like others have said, low on female prospects but a great school. As far as the NROTC unit, Im sure a lot has changed since I commissioned ('07) but overall it was a good unit. You'll do one fundraiser for the entire school year by working at the speedway during speedweeks - which is a good freakin time no matter where you are from because it's not the race you're watching it's the _____________ (noun of choice).

Do a search you'll find more.

OP: Seriously, there's been lots of discussion on ERAU and the pros and cons of going there. Search the site, there's nothing new in the meantime.

But to sum up: those who've been there seem to agree that it's a good aviation program, but wayyyy too expensive for what you get.

Those of us who heave to teach them once they reach the Navy...well, Riddle Kids are like Academy kids these days. They don't have a very good rep amongst instructors. Frequently overconfident to the point of arrogance, without the skills to back it up. I've had many, many of them flunk out of API, and API's not hard.

When you're 17 and really into airplanes, the idea of going to Airplane College seems incredibly cool. But, one of the salty dogs on AW put it best: flying isn't an academic discipline, it's a trade. College isn't supposed to be a trade school, and besides, the Navy will teach you how to fly anyway, for free. Go to a school with a solid academic rep and a diverse program, major in something you find interesting and could possibly make a living with if this aviation thing doesn't pan out.
