Im not on this board but I will be applying to the next one. Thats good to know that my medical waiver has no effect on the selection decision. Do you know how marijuana waivers are viewed by the board in this day and age? (Again I smoked about 25 times over HS and college, last usage was almost 3 years ago). From what I understand it’s very easy to obtain a marijuana waiver but I don’t know if that means the board glosses over it or if they still would rather take a similar applicant over me because of it.

I had a buddy who commissioned via ROTC and got SNA with a marijuana waiver. You'll be fine.

I don’t think marijuana waivers are a thing. You just can’t have smoked 90 days before you submit or something.

For those of us who applied through ISPP and our names are on the list, does that mean we didn’t qualify for ISPP but were good otherwise or is that just everyone who is at board regardless?

It could be either as if they found you weren't eligible for ISPP they move you to the regular board, if you get a "N" then you know they sent you the regular route.

I'm diving into hypotheticals, but just so I'm understanding in your experience, if the package is going the ISPP route and meets all the requirements of the program authorization, what are some reasons it can be moved to the regular board? Seems like if Paul screened it and didn't kick it back, it would be odd for anyone after him to say "oh this package doesn't meet the requirements that are clearly laid out in the PA."

Paul is the first review of many, he like the other processors do check to make sure all the documents are there but it is the others that ensure the applications meet the requirements of the PA. We would see some applications kicked back from the processors for items that needed to be resent due to being unreadable or sometimes an item was uploaded. If there was an application that was found to not meet the PA it was always rejected by the program manager.

It could also be they are just listing the ISPP on the list and the board will get them and move them right to the "Y" pile.
