OCS 30SEP 2024 IWC Board

Interesting, what did your recruiter say about your parents affecting your chances? Mine are from an adversarial country as well but are naturalized citizens; my recruiter said it's not an issue
Oh i see, maybe he just wants me to think that’s the reason I get denied? Haha, I’m not sure. He said that he has seen it affect his applicants chances who have parents from out of country. Thing is my mom isn’t even from an adversarial country, Micronesia is technically US military territory and the citizens get I-9s because of that.

First time posting here, my recruiter said that the September 30th date is still accurate just today. I think I don’t have much of a chance for this board due to my stats, also my Mother was born in a different country (Federated States of Micronesia) which my recruiter said affects my chances. This is still my top choice if I get selected but I am still perfectly happy with SWO if not. College GPA: 3.2, OAR:47, non prior, 22yo male. Long shot I know, but still excited for OCS and no matter what I get into
If it helps both of my parents are from India and my recruiter never mentioned this either. I did some research on clearances and have seen examples of people being cleared with issues much worse than their country of origin. I guess India isn't technically adversarial but still

That’s a relief, now I just have to hope my stats held up at the board. Hopefully we all find out soon, my recruiter just said the September 30th date is accurate so we should be hearing back any day right?

Yeah is your mom a naturalized American citizen? That could maybe be a factor if not. Just a guess

I checked a bunch of previous IWC board threads and a common pattern was the results were returned 3 weeks after the convening date. We should expect to hear something either this week or next, and if not, then maybe what others have said about the delay to Oct 28 is true.

I don’t think she is, all I know is she uses an I-94 to go between the US and Micronesia
AFAIK I-94s are only used by non-citizens or people without a green card, so people who are here on some type of visa. Maybe that's why your recruiter had concerns. Not 100% sure though

Lmk what y'all think, but it sounds like the delay wouldn't realistically affect our OCS dates by much. We'd likely be in the Jan OCS classes regardless of wether the results release next week or next month, no?

Yeah that would make more sense then. My dad has a good security clearance with the Air Force even when he was married to her but maybe navy is different

I’m hoping to make December but if not I think we definitely will have a good chance for January, my recruiter said he will try and get me on December since I already requested for an early ship date I might get a spot

For me it's a little different since I'd be in the May-June dates as that's when I graduate college, but I regardless think you're right. I don't see any reason why anyone from this board wouldn't attend OCS in January or early next year

All of the IWC board convened September 30th according to my recruiter yesterday. Really hoping we hear back today, every day I’m just waiting on the call from my recruiter

My recruiter also said she hadn't heard of an Oct 28 board and saw no changes in the system (although I asked her this on Oct 9 but still). Judging from previous boards today is normally the day results are released. No guarantees but still praying if not today then soon haha

I really hope so, the waiting game is killer
