OCS board schedule

From the fleet processor, the IDC is closed out for the AUg 2013 rescheduled board. I'm not sure what that mean.
If someone knows, please explain.

That generally means they have accepted and processed all the applications that are going to be sent to that board.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone else can confirm the August IDC board closing early - Tenzo, do you have any additional info? Were you able to submit your packet?

Fleet Processor received wrong information and apologized. Deadline for submission is 17th July. I will send in my package on Tuesday.

Good luck buddy.

Hm, now I'm wondering about retaking the ASTB even though my OR said there was no need. She said aim for a minimum of 6 in every section to be a strong competitor and get some things above the minimum, which I handled. (8/6/7 here).

I submitted my application on June 20th for 12AUG13 IDC Board. The Fleet Processor also sent me the DRAFT for FY14 Board dates. Just want to share with you all. Another IDC Board will be December 2nd, 2013

If it were I, a retake is a gamble I wouldn't take. I agree with your OR.

Very competitive scores; however, it's your call. :)

Well, Busybee, it looks like my OR decided that this week is the time for me to submit, so I won't be retaking it unless I go to a board and don't get picked up. They think that now the last board has convened, a new one may pop up as soon as next month, especially because only a rough draft is available for the FY14 board schedule. It looks like it's time to hurry up and wait.

I think you have a good shot now (easy for me to say, huh?). But be optimistic... if it doesn't work out this time, improve your package where possible, study to retake/improve ASTB... then resubmit!

Damn, I didn't realize who you were at first. I have no words to express how awesome it is that a guy who flew Skyhawks in combat over North Vietnam is advising me on the application process.

I talked with the OR and another officer at my NRD today and they were both really optimistic about my package, and that got me pumped. They said the next "hard board" is the November/December one, which sucks, but fortunately they expect them to keep having rolling boards, as they said they're still going to need a lot more pilots for FY14. Their estimate was about a month from now for another selection board. I need to get one more document, then I'll see.

Well just hang in there, and perhaps someday I could mentor you on how to avoid becoming a "flak-magnet" & the science of outmaneuvering radar-guided "telephone poles"!

What's the latest gouge on updated board schedules? I'm particularly interested in the SNA/SNFO/SWO and IDC boards. Anybody have info?

My OR told me yesterday that I would probably not get to submit to an aviation board before the NOV/DEC one because my NRD is busy with a massive inspection during the month of August, if there even is a hypothetical August rolling board. However, they also said my package will be submitted a week from tomorrow, so I suppose it might be there if they are any oddball boards. I'm not sure about how submitting a package vice submitting to a particular board works, or if there is even any distinction.
