Your cells are only but so strong and with over-exertion and high water-loss the cells become leaky and the ion Potassium escapes in higher concentrations than is needed for muscle contraction. With too much potassium, your muscles will seize up. There may be other complications like liver and kidney damage as well, but those are usually only in the most severe cases.

I didn't mean to imply that there isn't such a disease, just that it was very convenient for so many people to cry rabdo after getting a good beating. A lot of those people wound up DORing or getting attrited anyway for failure to train.

I was just answering skim's question on the matter, that's all. I think one or two guys have it in 04-08 up there now. But I think 01 through 03 managed not to have any new cases.

As far as easing up on the incoming classes, I think it's only b/c there are a lot more people there now when it was just 01 and 02 there. All the other DIs were on hand to "help" with the beatings and such, but now they're spread out more among the newer classes. 05 will be joining the fun tomorrow!

So basically go there in good shape and one would be fine? Got it.

Uh... yea... get here in pretty good shape.

As far as Rabdo being fake or a convenient excuse, 03-08's president, VP, and a squad leader have been at OCS for 30 some odd weeks because of hospitalization for Rabdo... I doubt they would stick it out that long if they didn't really have it. As far as things getting easier for the newer classes, tell that to 04-08 when they get Gunny SXXX back on Tuesday. I don't think anyone would want to trade places.

Sorry I didn't specify. My recruiter told me that it has gotten more rigorous and talking to my friend in intel at OCS in RI and my friend who graduated Pcola recently, sounds like my recruiter's observations may have some weight (when I said more rigorous, I meant the physical requirements for progressing have gotten more stringent).

I have heard opposite of that. And this comes from guys who are up there right now and that were H-class people from P'cola... Although they did say it still sucks

Skim, that looks good..

Just make sure your FORM is correct for OCS.

If they don't like your form, they don't count. I almost failed the IN-PRT for form on the Pushups.

That's about where I was at prior to going to OCS. The numbers will definitely drop on the IN-PFA because you'll be tired and worried about proper form, but as long as you keep working hard before checking in you should be fine.

Good to hear my numbers sound decent. Hopefully I dont get hit for form. About form, for my push ups, I roll a towel up so its about 3 inches off deck, so when im down, my elbows are at 90 degrees and my chest hits the towel. Fingers are together and back is straight. It is probably the best I can do without having someone who was at OCS tell me what im doing right or wrong. The sit ups vary by opinion it seems. I hear that arms are crossed flat against the chest while I hear others say that hands on chest but elbows are more elevated. Make sense? To be safe I keep my elbows flat across my body. On monday I plan on doing a full prt test. What is the time in between sets at OCS? 2 minutes? 5 minutes? 0 minutes?

I would say between 2-3 minutes. You do your sit-ups, switch with your partner, then on to the push-ups. It goes pretty quick. Then maybe 5 minutes before starting the run.
