When do you run the "in-pfa"?
Glad to see someone already answered. Yes, IST is the one you really need to worry about. You'll still be possibly in shock, dehydrated, and sleep-deprived. If you don't pass the IST, you roll right there. If you do pass the IST, odds are you shouldn't have issues with the In-PFA unless you somehow get injured between the two.The OCR says that the In-PFA is the Friday of week four. However, note that this is different from the IST, which is the first Wednesday.
Mid-PFA requires an average of 'Good' overall. But that's not until week 8 (gauntlet week) and will probably be the least of your worries. If you don't struggle with the IST then odds are you won't have any issues going from SAT -> GOOD by week 8 when you PT 5 times a week. I would definately recommend achieving at least an average of GOOD before you check-in. You probably perform lower than your norm/best when you do the IST. Everyone performs less than they usually do.
Not, trying to start the old "it was harder when I went through" stuff but what exactly sucks about OCS now? It seems to me they have unfortunately killed all the stuff that sucked but you laughed about later as well as fun traditions like the first salute. Doing all the demos for the families was always entertaining as well and I thought a nice touch.
Have they done ANYthing to replace the suck?
More watches in khakis sounds pretty sucky.
My candio phase can be defined by one word. 'Watch'... At one point, I stood 32 hrs of watch in 48rs. On top of having to get pictures done, attend briefs etc. I averaged 2hrs of sleep during indoc week as a candio. Not 'terrible', but still...pretty sucky.
