I think bogey's saying she needs 2 semesters of calculus for NUPOC and is betting that you don't have to take it in international relations. heh.

I think so, too.

Most degrees require a couple of math credits and a science elective, so she might have taken calculus. However, you left out calculus-based physics, which very few people take as their science elective. Hell, I didn't even need that for my bio degree, so I had to go back to school for it.

Two semesters of calculus isn't required for aviation?

thanks a lot... that really helps. I am an international relations major and poli sci minor. What position might be suitable for me as an officer? Perhaps intel?

As stated, it all depends. I have a BS in poli sci and got turned down for intel (thought I was a shoe in)and supply, but got picked up for SWO, which I thought I had no real chance getting due to lack of math.

You can put down 3 choices on your app. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUT DOWN WHAT YOU WANT TO RECEIVE!!!! Dont think that "if I put down xxx as my first and yyy and zzz as my second and third, they will totally think I really want to join and i will get my first!!" then get pissed when you dont get your first. Make sense? Also, focus on your ASTB! the better the score the more opportunities so to speak (the selection process is whole person concept btw). OOH! dont forget your essay also! Yeah. I think thats it.

Search around here and you'll find lots of gouge on how the Program works. To sum up: you don't enter the Program as a "helo pilot," just as a student naval aviator (SNA). What you wind up flying depends on how you do
in each stage and, more importantly, what the Navy happens to need at that moment.

Majors-wise, Mrs Fester was a Music major and Hebraic Studies minor, then went to do PR and accounting in the Big Wide World. She signed up after 9/11 and now flies E-2 Hawkeyes. All it takes is willingness to work hard and a modicum of smarts.

I had to look up Hebraic studies, never heard of it before.

My favorite was the Prowler RAG instructor who graduated from Berkeley with a degree in French and a minor in Women's Studies, and he was a dude!
