REPEAT... no matter what the "other recruiter/processor" said, make contact with NOPO, and get the straight word. Only then can you, RUFIO, & BuzzyBee stop worrying!

Just did. Thanks gentlemen. I just wanted to exhaust the lower echelons first.

"Lower echelons" ...hmmpff!:p OBTW, you forgot to tell us what he said?

Well I had to wait for his response first! He responded this morning and said he'd look into it for me. Then about an hour later I got a call from a chief in his building who asked me if I was available Aug 10. Of course I replied in the affirmative, and I will be set to graduate on Oct 31. It looks like my troubles are over (or have they not yet begun?) Let's just hope I don't twist my ankle in a pothole and get rolled into H-class. Anyway, I'm feeling pretty good right now and I can't wait for the fun to begin!

It seems you got some good news, then suddenly flipped and turned pessimistic... what gives with this "Let's hope blah-blah-blah stuff"? You passed your first big hurdle, time to look ahead with optimism, not conjure up things over which you have no control, to worry about... 'nuf said.;)

There's certainly no pessimism here, but I hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I think that's a pretty good mantra for a naval officer. I knew a guy who got injured at OCS and then hit his age limit before he could make a new class. I don't want to be that guy. Trust me, I'm highly optimistic, but I'm also aware that "life happens" sometimes.

I'm not disagreeing though, I appreciate the advice. . . looking onward.

It seems that some people get dates "penciled in," where they have been tentatively assigned a date that appears in the CIRIMS(?) computer system but is not official until the FINSEL is issued. Other people have described a situation of their FINSEL being "on the PM's desk awaiting signature," which may be another way to describe the same thing. I don't think that there is anything that you can do to get an unofficial date, and you may well just get your FINSEL and never find yourself in that transitory state.

Yea I'm not stressing it, I'm sure it will come soon. Just keeping myself busy with working out and traveling.
