OCS Recommendation Letters????

I just reviewed the instructions for an OCS package in OPNAVINST 1420.1A CH-3n and it doesn't say how to incorporate other recommendations????

I have my old commanding officer, and executive officer that are wanting to give me recommendations for OCS, I was wondering which form do you use. I have to send them the format they need to write it on?????

Is it written like the Commanding officers recommendation would or is there another format??

applicants who have submitted more than the required recommendations, please reply and let me know how you added to the minimum rec's and what format you used or guidelines. thanks
 
The recommendation or LOR that is written in your favor does not have to be a certain template. I would have to say the LOR for enlisted is generally the official format written on letter head usually addressed to the OCS selection board.

I hope this helps. Maybe someone with more experience can shed some more light on the subject.
 
All 8 of my letters of recommendation were in different formats, however the writer wanted to write it up was fine. I got accepted, so I guess it was fine. All of my letters were from O-5's and O-6's so I let them do whatever they wanted. :D If you would like to see some samples just PM me your email address and I will send them to you. It won't be till around 2pm pacific time though, because I am at work right now and they are saved to my computer. Just let me know.
