We got destroyed in our cadillacs well before RLP. We ditched them that week, but the newer classes get to keep the go-fasters on the whole time.
That's cause there isn't a squad bay in all of Newport.
Who's been bragging about it? All Tom said was thanks.

Wow.. We wore leather shoes once we got in Khakis.. No sneakers unless you were med down or had some foot issues. I wore running shoes dyed black for 2 weeks since the NEX could not get black shoes in my size in time.
Same for us. I'm sure they had fun with your shoes during MTTs (apparently now named RLPs).

Yeah.. GySgt Burns put my shoes on OVER his boots and proceeded to have me take him to each room, and yell "HOLY SHIT GUNNY/SSGT, LOOK AT THIS!!!" and point to him wearing my shoes.

Ya, I don't know why we didn't wear our cadillacs until RLP. I guess they wanted to keep them pristine for the inspection, although after outpost/black saturday, they were FVCKED UP, so it didn't really matter much either way.
My feet still got fvcked up even with that extra 2 weeks of wearing go fasters. Somehow, running in cadillacs isn't conducive to foot health. I had plantar fasciitis so bad by the end of OCS I couldn't walk in bare feet on a hard floor without limping on each foot. Took until the end of API to feel normal again.

Now picture how it would have been wearing black shoes (don't recall calling them Cadillacs, thats what we called the mop buckets with wheels), from Black Saturday onward, back when "real OCS" was still 13 weeks.

OCS being shorter a week is only due to them taking out the fun parts. (YPs, pistol qual, O course etc etc)
