So what's the worst it could do? They either reject it totally or may be positively influenced by it. Why would the Board look at it as a bad thing?

Dont worry about it, it is one little tiny thing in your package amongst the many other things that they are going to look at. What you should have gotten was an interview from the Senator, because LORs are primarily to judge your professional and moral/social character. Which a senator doesn't really know, unless he/she is a family friend that you have known for a long period of time... But an interview would have probably looked much stronger. It doesn't matter now, your package is in, so you need to Hurry up and wait... good luck!

Yeah I knew my ASTB HAD to be great with a GPA like that, and I can't remember if the Navy lowers your GPA for retaking classes like the AF does. If so, I'm not sure if 9's would get me in...

Why does SWO get such a bad rap, it seems like it would actually be a great job. When I was at LA NRD a few weeks ago I was talking with a LTJG SWO and he was saying that he was getting out, though he washed out of SEALs, and he said that there was just a lot of paperwork and to much competition. But if you like paperwork, like I do, and you enjoy competition, like I do, then it seems like it would be a great job.

I am just interested in why SWO is having issues getting people, can't seem to find good answers besides "it sucks"... I know that this is the wrong thread, but ehhhh, I haven't found any other replies.

yeah but i could have gotten SWO with my 5,6,5 53 I had, and without blowing 10k on PRK and flight lessons.... If I added a #2 it'd be NFO i.e. trunk monkey

I'd imagine it's competitive (hard to advance easily) because there are so many officers in the community and its difficult to stand out.

Well, I got pushed to the October Board....so here are my stats!

My OR said the civilian processor was being "talked to and reviewed" because about 6 applicants from the Atlanta office did not make their board when the packet was in on time!!

Applying for SNFO only - immediate entry. (Vision...and refuse PRK)

I have nothin' but love for the NFO community, but why did you refuse PRK? Just wondered 'cause I did it and am so amazed its ridiculous (after the initial four days of Vicodinland)

Well good, maybe you know then - is this board 'filling up' to its new limit now? My paperwork won't go in till tuesday now and if I don't make the Oct boards I won't have enough time for a resubmit for BDCP (not that I won't try for a direct shot though)

I just spoke to my processor and she told me that the package has been submitted but they won't know if I "made the board" until they receive a confirmation email next week. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

What date did your processor submit? Earlier or sooner than today's date (the 19th).
