Ok guys, There is a strong possibility that my age waiver for SNA/NFO may not be approved. If so, I need to add a couple other choices.

I am curious what you would choose if SNA/NFO was not possible and why?

I am currently prior-service intel, so I am considering INTEL, IW & SWO.

What do you guys think??

I am looking for challenging, rewarding with opportunity for growth...

Thats an idea... I will look into that also... Who knows, I still have a 1% chance of getting an age waiver, so cross your fingers ;-)

First, decide if you really want a career in the Navy, if you can't get an aviation slot, and go from there. It sounds like you do, so if I were in your shoes...I'd probably go intel. Sounded like a cool career outside of aviation, and you've got some prior experience. In the end, they're all officers...it's just about deciding what YOU think you would like doing. Best of luck with the waiver though....

^^ Just make sure you can pass a single scope background investigation (SSBI) for a top secret (TS) clearance if you want to go intel.

Well, I had a TS/SCI when I was Intel in the Army, so I don't see a problem with that... but who knows!?!

I was thinking that Intel was the next logical choice after Aviation, but I was reading some old threads that suggested that Intel guys don't seem to be liked, respected or appreciated by other officers, especially aviation guys... Any thoughts?

Easy choice for me in this poll, since I've never really considered SNA or NFO and I'm applying just for Intel.

I've heard that it's usually resentment bred of their stunning intellect and dashing good looks.

You must be referring to the aviators. ;)

INTEL vs. IW

So, how would you describe INTEL vs. IW, how they are different, why one (in your opinion) is better than the other??
