Just took the ASTB yesterday and made a 6,7,6 48...i realize this is not great but have people been picked up with scores like that? or am i wasting my time with these scores???

You won't know until you apply. As it seems you know, the 48 is pretty low but that just means you can improve your ASTB and resubmit if you don't get in.
