parking tickets

I got one, maybe two, minor parking tickets in high school (I am a junior in college now). I got the ticket and paid the fine no problem. My question is whether these will show up in a background check. The car that I was driving when I received the tickets was owned by my father. I never actually interacted with any human being in receiving or paying for the tickets (in New Jersey you can pay online using a credit card). Since the car was owned by my father, wouldn't the tickets show up on his record and not mine? If I have gotten in trouble with the police at any other time would I even have a record? Thanks a lot for your help, guys.

Parking tickets are not criminal. They are a civil matter. I could imagine no scenario where this would be a problem as long as they were paid. So, no, they will not show up.

I'm not driving fast, I'm flying low
Additionally, things along this line fall under the "minor traffic offenses, for which the fine was less than $150", which your background investigation paperwork says to exclude...

One of many billets these days is the title of Security Manager. Parking and Speeding tickets are really no big deal as long as you admit to them when asked (and yes they will show up) and take care of them properly. You will be fine.

It will show up on your background investigation, and you will be flagged for additional screening, as well as added to the national do not fly list. Additionally, you will not get jets or props, only helos. You will also be selected for your last choice for duty station for the remainder of your career. :D

Seriously, it is a minor infraction that is clearly identified on an SF-86 and EPSQ as a "do not include" item. Geez, if I only had parking tickets to worry about...

Why are you asking if these things would show up when they pulled your record? Would you exclude something that you don't believe they would find out about? As already mentioned, the paperwork only asks for tickets over $150, but if they did ask about them you should be open regardless of whether you thought they would find out or not. I mentioned a ticket to my recruiter and he just said "not a problem" and it was for more than $150.

On a related note, how can you call yourself a naval aviator if you haven't gotten a speeding ticket? Oh yeah, they call you a helo pilot.

I have a quite distinguished speed award from the Jacksonville Sherrif's Office. 105 in a 65, and I BEAT IT!

Is that why I got picked up for C2E2? Fast but not quite fast enough?
