To the best of my knowledge anything you put in your car (DITY move) does count towards the 600 lb total. The important thing to remember is that you can bring as much as you want - you're only going to get paid for moving 600 lbs though.

I guess I should have phrased it differently. What I meant was that if you have movers move 600 lbs, then anything you put in your car, you won't be reimbursed for. Peanut is correct.
