For all of you in Pensacola, how is the town doing? Are businesses back to normal operations and such?

It seems that everyone here was more prepared this time around for Dennis. Probably a large portion due to "lessons learned" from Ivan. Another huge factor was that Pcola didn't end up on the eastern edge of the eye this time. Haven't been down to the beaches yet, but I heard Navarre and Pcola beach are still closed to non-residents.

Beaches open sunday

The News Journal said Pensacola Beach would reopen to the public at 6am on sunday. Not to threadjack, but i will, is there an alternate MWR gym at/near NASP since it got wrecked from ivan?

There's the portside gym at NASP which is pretty gucci. it's over on the NATTC side of the base in the same building as the movie theater.

As to the condition of Pcola, like flynsail said, nothing near the level of destruction like Ivan had. Milton got hit a lot worse, but the storm didn't spin off all the tornados that Ivan did. NASWF didn't get hit too bad. No missing hangar doors this time around, but the academic building did get its roof ripped off and is going to be bulldozed.

Yeah...the Clyde E. Lassen building...the one with book issue and the course rules classes in it. The whole roof was hanging off of some trees earlier this week.

Can anyone tell me how the Flora-bama held up? I saw pictures from Ivan...made me cry...then I had a couple more Yuenglings and I felt better.
