"You can't make this shit up..."
Same here. My flight was in Aug 1984 on an HC-11 Phrog from the USS Sacramento to the USS Enterprise. Geez I'm old.

I must be old too - mine was only 4 years later than yours. We anchored off of FLL and flew the entire air wing's equipment off the boat to the ramp and then loaded it all on trucks. Can't imagine that happening today.

I've got a solid .4 of stick time in whatever bird "double nutz" happens to be (RAG bird). Pretty fun doing steeps and landing at around 600? VSI or so at ole' Harold OLF in the Phrog. Do that in a Cobra and you'll be lucky to walk away.

Do it much faster than 600 fpm in the Phrog, and you'll turn on the cabin dome lights in back.

Just out of curiosity, how much longer is HMM-774 going to be flying the Phrog? The numbers at the squadron seem to be dwindling more and more over the past few weeks, finally this morning there was only one -46 on the ramp and none in the hanger...wondering if I was witnessing the final send off during my AM run.

I think it happened over the weekend. NASM Udvar-Hazy had what was the last or near last 46 flight to Dulles for a retirement ceremomy.
