Hey guys. I found some info that there was supposed to be a pilot board for July 2012, however I called my recruiter last Wednesday to confirm this and he said as of that morning it had been cancelled. Has anyone else heard this or know anything about this?

Yes there is a pilot board July 2012, it isn't on any official schedule yet as it was just added last week. This was directly from the National Officer Programs Officer, so your recruiter is going to miss out on getting guys selected.

Thanks a lot for the update. I'll be sure to talk it through with him so everyone can get in on this board.

It is very possible that his chain of command is restricting info from NRC, there are several NRD's that do this, often the CO/XO isn't involved in this but some career recruiters like to maintain power of the people that work for them, so he may not have rec'd the info, tell him to read the NOPO grams and the emails that have come out from NRC, if he can get them.

Wow, that's awesome news. Wonder how that's going to affect selection rates for April.

That is a good question, when we looked at the board schedule draft we didn't think about that, but one thing to think about is often people are selected that don't become PQ, so by spacing out the boards like they are doing know allows for those selected to get PQ or drop off, then it allows for a better account of what they really need.

Sorry, PQ?

Oh gotcha. I went to MEPs prior to my package being submitted (I go to school out of state from my NRD), do most not do the same, aka go to MEPs after they have received their final select? Seems like the Navy would want to know if you're medically qualified prior to selecting you.

Just got off the phone my with recruiter here in Jacksonville, Fl. He went to a meeting last week and they recieved the board schedules for the year and he said the July 2012 was for sure so let's get rolling. Also there will be one in January as well. He said both of these as of right now are set in stone, so hopefully there won't be any surprises anytime in the near future.

I missed the April board by a week or so waiting for a waiver so I just got pushed to July. Headed to MEPS Wednesday. Good luck everyone!

I'm in the same boat as you, missed April because of waiver. Recruiter is ready to press send for the July board now! Already done MEPS though thankfully

Just wondering what dates the board is scheduled. That is if anyone knows; or more importantly, when the cut-off would be. I have to get some things squared away in a very short timeframe to hopefully apply for this board. I am waiting to hear from my recruiter regarding the April Intel board that didn't happen (assuming non-select), so I figured I would ask them then. Regardless, they seem to be pretty out of the know regarding dates and it might be as a result of what NavyOffRec mentioned as being kept out of the loop from higher up. I am afraid if I wait to act on their confirmation that I would be too late to get everything together.

On a side note, NavyOffRec, would you be able to offer information regarding putting together the packet again for the SNA board. Can they use some of the stuff that was for my Intel application package? I am assuming some things would change, such as the ASPR, but I have some LOR’s that were mighty difficult to get people tracked down and sign. If they were signed in mid-February is that current enough?

Thank you to all for any info! Here’s to hoping this might be the one!!!

Is it too late to begin an application for this July board? I have made my decision to pursue this and I am about to talk to a recruiter to begin the process.
